A glider plane lost power and crashed through the roof of a home in Danbury, according to the City of Danbury Fire Department.

The Danbury Fire Department received an alert regarding a glider plane that had crashed into a home on Golden Hill Avenue on Tuesday, June 4 around 6 p.m.

Further investigation revealed that a 2016 Alisport Silent 2 Electro glider plane from Danbury Municipal Airport lost power, and the pilot conducted an emergency landing that placed the plane through the roof of the occupied residence, according to the fire department.

At the time of the landing, there was reportedly one occupant in the glider plane and three occupants within the home.

The pilot suffered from minor injuries and was transported by ambulance to the Danbury Hospital Center Emergency Room.

The three occupants of the home were also transported to Danbury Hospital for medical evaluation.

Airport Administration also responded to the scene and is investigating alongside the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board.
